WJPA has designed multiple Goodwill facilities throughout the state of Georgia. All locations have featured a retail and donation center building approximately 25,000 square feet in area. In addition, our office has also designed a two-story career and support services center for Goodwill. Construction of these projects consists of a traditional structural steel frame that incorporates load-bearing concrete masonry walls.

This three-story, 10,000 SF building was designed in a historically sensitive manner to replace a famous building in the City of Woodstock. The new building was designed to accommodate both restaurant and office use and includes design features that allows abundant daylighting. The structural design involved underpinning the foundation of an adjacent, historic structure to allow for the excavation and construction of the lower floor level.

This Fox Bros is a new location for a heralded barbeque restaurant. WJPA designed modifications to an existing industrial structure for the addition of this restaurant into this development. The restaurant features over 9,000 square feet of interior dining space and over 2,500 square feet of outdoor dining. The design features a clean urban look and includes heavy structural steel members at entryways.

The structure is a two-story steel frame and uses masonry shear walls and steel bracing to resist lateral loads. The building contains two feature towers with large, stone fireplaces.

We had the pleasure of designing six buildings in this award-winning development. The buildings were designed with a variety of historic styles that were intended to look original to the community. The buildings included three-story, two-story, and one-story structures. Concrete, structural steel, heavy timber and masonry structural elements are used to complement the overall design aesthetic.
