The Beacon Atlanta

WJPA was hired to help convert six existing warehouse structures, once used as a bakery, into a new commercial development supporting office, retail, restaurant, and entertainment use. The design challenges included a new, steel tower used for signage, large grade changes between existing buildings, and overcoming previously unaddressed structural disrepair on the existing buildings. This 110,000 square foot development is in Grant Park and is immediately adjacent to the Beltline.

The Leon

This project consists of a two-story post-tensioned concrete parking structure supporting five levels of timber condominium construction. Main level retail is incorporated into the parking deck level. The design includes a unique butterfly roof design constructed from engineered lumber.

129 North College Street

Located near Auburn University, this project consists of three-stories of timber framed residential over a large, big box retailer at the main level. The total square footage of the project is approximately 65,000 square feet. The foundation design of this project posed unique challenges due to the proximity of adjacent buildings and poor in-situ soil conditions.

Hilton Garden Inn + Home2 Orlando

This project is an eight-story dual-branded hotel with a main level retail component. The primary structural system is a cast-in-place concrete frame supporting precast hollow-core planks. The design features 140,000 square feet of hospitality space with a rooftop supported pool.

Aloft + Residence Inn Atlanta Airport West

The project features a dual-branded hotel that is paired with a retail component. Retail and hotel amenities are provided on the main level. The 2nd floor of the structure is a post- tensioned concrete podium slab which supports six-stories of hotel. Hotel superstructure consists of cold formed metal framing and select structural steel elements.

Adair Park

Adair Park is a four-story structure over a one level basement. The building is primarily timber construction, with select areas of steel framing used to create a fully open atrium at the building entrance. The building includes commercial office, restaurant, and retail uses.
